Goat were first domestication in the New Stone Age. Man first hunted these small ruminants. But when they caught them alive and tested, they found that , these wild animal soon become tamed, and these could easily be utilized for human welfare. Because these small animals are generally docile and quite easily handle.
In the ancient time , goat is found to be the first domestication among the ruminants by man. Mankind starts domestication of poultry as it is easier to raise in comparison to other animals. As one of the first animals domesticated by man, goat was found to be very convenient for its prolificacy and easy husbandry practices. Signs of their domestication have been fond in excavations of Neolithic sites at Jericho dating them 7000 BC. As civilization developed , more evidences of the species appeared and poems and drawings  preserved for more than 5000 years pay tribute to both wild and penned goats.
The constant appearance of the goat in Greek mythology in evidence of its importance at the time of creation of many legends. Old Jews was raised by a goat named Amathea. He rewarded, his nurse by placing her in the sky as the bright star cappella (linle goat).Dionysus, goat of wine , was also suckled on goats milk part who may have been Dionysus. Jon, had goats feet and horns. About  400 BC the Greeks formalized the Zodine and assigned the position of controller of the Winter Solstice to the goat fish capneom.
In the Hindu mythology ,it has been found that 15 he buck has been being sacrificed before Makhail the Goddess of power and rescue as an offering to parse her from the very beginning of Hindu culture.
There are many reference to goats in both the old and new Testamenu they had become by Biblical times, important as a source of meat, milk, hair and skin. All the time of Moses, an annual ritual involved the sacrifice of twin goat as an offering to the lord while the other was anointed and set free in the wilderness to be a live atonement offering or ‘’scape goat’’.
By the time of Christ the goat was beginning to be discriminated against and it was seen to be it Desirable to separate Christ flowers, the good sheep from the others. The goats thus gradually disappeared from the religions art and writings even through it had played a major part in religious history. In history civilization in Indus valley including Harappa-Moenzodaro, the domestication of goat was also found to be associated with other animals.Presently it has been found that about 75% of total goats population are in developing countries and mostly reared in the house hold farming. But in almost all countries goats are found to be reared though even in very rare cases.
